Elections

Each nation that joins the debate on the plan for the international government must decide how to establish the additional layer of government, and how to choose the people who will represent them on the international level. In "A Manual for the International Government," Seth starts the process by differentiating between the different forms of government, including monarchies and dictatorships, and how each can approach the process. Our advisory teams will help the nations transition, if we are asked to do so.

In the United States, we must amend the US Constitution to create the additional layer of government, and because this is a structural change to the Constitution, our organization believes an Article V path to amend the Constitution is the best path. We are starting a new cycle in our nation, and taking the Constitution to the next level, onto the international level. The Article  V path is closest to how our founders functioned to create our nation. Over the years, there have been many amendments introduced to change various parts of the Constitution, like term limits and a balanced budget and the electoral college, but these amendments have been politically blocked, and now that change is inevitable, because our Congress is logjammed, all these proposed amendments can be combined and addressed as part of the overview amendment.

As the US 2020 election unfolded, it tested the boundaries of the existing structure. Donald Trump lost the election based on the popular vote and the electoral college, but he is attempting to convince the election officials and the courts that the election was rigged, and wants to take the case all the way to the US Supreme Court. The States are responsible for holding and certifying the elections, and choosing the electors to go to Congress to turn over the results of the election in their state. Donald Trump is attempting to convince the state election officials of states where Joe Biden won to disregard the votes of their citizens and to instead choose electors who will give the election to Trump. This may or may not be accepted and decided by the Supreme Court.

There is a continuum of frequency around the world of how a nation chooses their leaders, and how the leaders address their power. The 2020 US election, with the charges that the election was rigged, can open the debate how the international constitution will address the power elected officials have and when to remove them from office for abuse of power, and each nation must address how to best approach elections within their nation to enable a peaceful transition of power on the international level. Each nation will have an international level and a national level, which makes monarchies and dictatorship forms of government address this issue from a unique perspective.

This is a "glitch" in the US election process. Is there a need to make a change? Is it the time to make a change or will the change be blocked, like previous attempts to change the process? Why were there previous blocks?

Is a peaceful transition of power from one administration to the next desirable? If there are protests, how should the protests be addressed? With force? If there is need for a change, which plan will be accepted? One that is forced through that is just as oppressive to the people?

If your plan doesn't address the root cause of the crisis, it will make the crisis worse. How do you know what the root cause of the crisis is?

With every government, the power is derived from the people. People are mortal and governments can be overthrown, then the question is, how much power is any government willing to turn over to the states and to the people? Our founders were facing a "glitch" in the existing structure because it became apparent that King George III was becoming oppressive. Was there need to make a change? Was it the time to make a change? Then, which plan would it be? When our founders debated the Constitution, they addressed what type of government and whether to have a monarch or a president, and how long in office--lifetime or for a term, and then how many terms and the length of terms. How to choose their president and how to remove him or her from office for abuse of power.

When the government is not solving the problems, the power starts to shift to the people. The pandemic has demonstrated that Donald Trump has not been able to solve the problems. Ripples of effects have gone out from the pandemic, including the economic crisis, and many people are facing financial hardships. To rise out of a financial crisis, the people must assume responsibility, and many people fall back and rely on their talents and gifts. When people's lives are affected, those who relied on Donald Trump to make them prosperous again will start to turn away from him, and as the voters turn away, so will his supporters in Congress. Trump may announce his intent to run again for president, but his chances of winning another election in four years will continue to shrink.

In our advisory contracts with foreign governments, we will work to help set up an election process, not with the government officials but with civil society, any group that is currently working with the people, on a state or province level. In our first session, we will start by asking them to get an accurate census from each jurisdiction, and then once that is accomplished, we will return for a second session to teach them how to set up an election process based on the census. We don't tell people what to do, but how to do it. During the second session, our secondary advisory teams will come with us to work with the people to solve the problems, such as healing the effects of conflict in wild and domestic animal populations, and in human populations that are suffering the effects of conflicts. We will also offer the governments the opportunity to "shop" from our projects catalog, which enables them to choose which project teams they would like to have come into their nation to set up programs. On the third session, we will return to address any "glitches" in the systems, and allow the project teams to start working with the governments and the people.

All eyes are on the US Constitution to see whether it will stand. Will the United States end up in rebellion and civil war? This is a test. There have been attempts to block the creation of the international government, too, by those who rely on the existing structure and those who function for their own interests, but when the existing structure is failing and the power grabs are exposed, then it is time for a change.
